From a 2011 Pew Research Center report, a graphic showing the median percentage of Muslims across seven Muslim countries who say each of these traits describes people in Western countries and median percentage of non-Muslims across the U.S., Russia, and four Western European countries who say each of these traits describes Muslims.
I highly recommend reading Michael Young’s op-ed “What Does Muslim-Western Relations Mean?” that gets at these ideas about values, characteristics, and identity.

I’ve been sort of lost in thought since yesterday’s drive on 33. I keep feeling like there’s something I should be doing, but I know there’s not. I think my brain’s just been hardwired to GOGOGO the last week or so…but that’s not me, and that’s not the way I want to live my life. I literally feel like I’m detoxing my system from all that hectic energy and caffeine…and I’m choosing to spend time focused on things like re-building relationships that I’ve let slip by the wayside this year and on noticing the beauty in life. I thought this article was appropriate to find on the On Being blog today. Grateful for a right-thinking dominated brain on days like today!
