Q:Do you introduce us to the happiest women? The broadcast on Oct. 30 depicts is so male centered and completely oblivious to female compassion and experience.
Who comes to mind for me… Wangari Maathai. Sylvia Boorstein. Jean Berko Gleason. Even Joanna Brooks. So many women model joy on our air week after week. None of them have had their brains studied by Richard Davidson, and, as it happens, the world of Tibetan Buddhist officialdom is male-oriented like most of our Western traditions have been too. But the "happiest man in the world" title is tongue in cheek, and likewise we enjoy very happy women who don’t need that title to radiate wisdom.
